Black & White Eyes

I treat Him like a peasant, unworthy of my thoughts.

"I treat her like my princess, a place open for her beside my throne."

I treat Him like a forgotten friend, not relative to my life.

"I relate to her every thought, for I also lived on earth."

I kick Him aside like a rock on the curb, watching Him tumble away out of my grasp and sight.

"I am her rock in life, the solid foundation that holds her firm."

I step over Him, thinking I can fool Him "I walk before, beside and after her, knowing all her plans."

I avoid Him, thinking He doesn't know where I hide.

"I know where to go when she hides, I wait for her there."

I sin, thinking He can't see.

"Her sin is not what I see in her."

I scream at Him, imagining He can't hear.

"I whisper peace in her heart."

I cry, pretending He doesn't understand.

"I see every tear and wipe them all away."

I hate Him, thinking He can't feel it.

"I love her beyond what she can comprehend."

I disobey, I run, I fight.

"I am faithful, I chase her, I defend her & never give up."

I am human

"I am God"

Even though I don't deserve such a Saviour, He gave me a second chance and I repented.

"I forgave her"

I let go.

"I took hold of her."

I believed He died.

"and I ROSE AGAIN."
