City Walls and Mountain Peaks

I believe in the beauty of watching someone else in their element.
More specifically, an element that isn't yours.
It's all about watching someone else find comfort and ease in a place that doesn't settle you.
Take for example, me. Let's talk about nature. My strengths are not awoken in nature; in fact my goals are to never be found in a place without building walls within reach. However, there are people in my life whose whole world can be found in the simplicity of earth. It's the times I join them - often reluctantly - that I expose myself to a whole new world; theirs. I would see a big old grey rock, where as they would see a majestic mountain that reflects the sun at just the right angles. I would see tiny little gross bugs - which I never trust at any times to stay away from me - but they see a world underneath them that often gets overlooked, and quite frankly, stepped on.
I started to understand that what they see in nature is what I see in the city; peace, life, adventure, potential and beauty. And for a minute, I saw the beauty they did. I was able to see through their eyes and I was able to last a little longer in an element I very honestly dislike. I was able to get lost in their heart for what was around them. It was beautiful. It was absolutely beautiful.
Find people that don't see what you see.
Find people that don't view the world the way you do.
Find people that push you outside of your comfort zone.
Find people that can show you a different way of seeing the world.
Don't live in your own bubble, but for a moment, live in someone else's.
Trust me, it's not always comfortable, but in that moment when you catch onto their vision, you'll find a bright new beautiful way of viewing this place we all call home.
