Open Me

Look at me but don't just look. Search. Search for the meaning and passion in my heart. See the bright of my future, the dark of my past and the confusion of my present. Open me like a book, touching the cover as each letter shines as if I was that beautiful read on your shelf. But it would just take a glance - one real look - to understand to never judge a book by it's cover.

So, take me as a book; don't judge me. Open up the pages of heartache, joy, celebration and destruction. Read between the lines as I tell my story. Pay attention to the subtle scribbles on the side. Tear apart the pages that are stuck together; the ones that are vulnerable and emotional. Take good care of me, read my story over and over again. Take it to heart and pass it on. Pass it on to the women of heartache, the parents healing from destruction and the teens of decision. Use my mistakes and choices well; learn from them. Let this story encourage you and let it remind you that you're never alone. As you turn to the first page, you'll discover the day I started fighting to understand who I was.

Don't be a passive reader who looks at the cover and places it down.

Give me a chance, open my pages and begin to understand me.

Let me be that book on your shelf; the one you love.

Let me change your life.
